Details →Choosing a lipstick container
A lipstick container is a mechanism: a base, a sleeve and a twist or push action that raises the bullet. The mechanism, not the decoration, is what fails.
Mechanism type
A twist-up mechanism is the default for a standard bullet. A push-up mechanism suits a slimmer pack and a shorter bullet. Both have to be matched to the bullet diameter and to how far the bullet should extend at full travel.
Bullet fit and temperature
The bullet is held by friction and by the shape of the cup, and it has to hold through the temperatures the pack will actually meet in transit. A formula that softens in a warm container will slip in a cup that was specced at room temperature only.
Slim or standard diameter
Standard diameters fit the common filling lines and the common bullet moulds. Slim packs read as more premium and use less material, but they constrain the bullet and often need a different cup. Choose the diameter before the decoration, not after.
The decorated surface
The sleeve is a small, fully cylindrical surface, which limits what can be printed on it. Hot foil stamping and silk screen printing are the options most commonly specified here; both are quoted per project against the actual part.
